We were born with the ability to see and communicate directly with nature spirits, this is apparent when watching a young child respond to nature.  Our culture unfortunately has created a sense of alienation from the nature of which we are a part.  People can be described as being "away with the fairies" as opposed to perhaps a more natural way of being which could be described as "a way with the faeries".  Some native peoples still hold as an intrinsic part of their cultures the ability to see and communicate with such elements of the world around them in this spirit form.

We are living at a time on this planet where it appears increasingly urgent to reconnect with the world around us, upon which we are dependent for life itself.  There is a need to rediscover our place within the web of life, to be more respectful, to find a sense of balance and reintegrate with the rest of life, rather than continue to damage and destroy.

The intent of the workshops I host is to remind people how it feels to be aware of nature spirits, to experience their different energies and live respectfully among them.  

  

 

 

 Talks about The Medicine Garden

From May 7-9 I will be signing copies of my book The Medicine Garden and giving a daily talk about some of the plants featured in the book.  This will all be happening on The Big Green Bus http://www.thebiggreenidea.org/news/article/the-big-green-bus-at-malvern-spring-garden-show/ as part of the Three Counties Gardening Show http://www.threecounties.co.uk/springgardening/index.html in Malvern, Worcestershire.  You will be able to find the Big Green Bus close to the west entrance of the showground.

 

Growing Medicine in a Suburban Garden

We will spend the day exploring a suburban garden and the different niches individual plants prefer.  We will discover the medicinal properties of common garden plants, gather a small selection and prepare a variety of simple home remedies from them.

Introduction to Communicating with Plant Spirits

Discover the healing power of plants on a spiritual and emotional level.  Develop your own inner wisdom and ability to communicate directly, from your heart, with the spirits of plants, nature spirits.

Introduction to Sacred Plant Medicine

This two day course will include collecting plants and making medicines for common ailments.  We will explore ways of receiving teachings directly from the wisdom of the plant realm and our own bodies.  This sacred way of working will enhance and deepen your understanding of the individual plants used whilst potentizing the remedies we create.  You will develop your own unique relationship with the plants we encounter and gain an understanding of their individual personalities.

The weekend will involve: 

• Learning to use your heart as your primary organ of perception.
• Slowing your pace to "Plant time".
• Exercises to enhance your understanding of, and communications with, beings in the plant realm.
• Gathering plants and preparing some simple remedies.
• Sampling the medicines you have made and experiencing their effects in very subtle ways

Rachel Corby will be hosting the workshops.  She started her training in plant spirit communication in 1998 under the guidance of Don Jaime in the Ecuadorian jungle on the banks of the Rio Napo.  Since then she has undertaken a variety of studies, with a number of teachers. They helped her increase her sense of connection to nature, understand the interconnectedness of all life, "feel" plants and ultimately to communicate directly with the spirits of the plants.  Her teachers have included; Patrick Whitefield, Nathanial Hughes, Stephen Harrod Buhner and Eliot Cowan.  She has been drummming for journey circles since 2006.
