Traditional Thai Massage
Thai massage is an ancient healing art, originating over 2500 years ago in India. It is sometimes known as "Thai Yoga Massage" due to the many stretches incorporated into the sequence. It is a combination of these stretches & the manipulation of energy points & consequently the energy flow in the body that create this unique healing system.
Benefits include:
- Relaxation
- Stretching
- Rejuvenation
- Stimulation of blood circulation & the lymphatic system
- Release of energy blockages
- Improved flexibility
- Improved range of motion
- Stress reduction
- Improved posture
Thai massage is more rigorous than some other forms of massage and provides a relaxing yet energizing experience. It employs the application of pressure along the sen energy lines (meridians) using thumbs, palms, forearms, elbows, knees and feet, alongside deep assisted stretches.
The massage is given on a mat on the floor, no oils are used and so you remain fully clothed. It is recommended that you wear loose comfortable clothing and that you do not eat for at least one hour before receiving a massage.
